CSN provide a quality, professionally oriented program for anyone wishing to enter and/or advance in the field of culinary arts. Some of the most exciting employment opportunities within the culinary arts profession are in Las Vegas. The "Entertainment Capital of the World" caters to millions of tourists annually. Students are taught to master the fundamentals of cooking with emphasis on hands-on preparation of various cuisines. From Basic Cookery to American Regional, International and French cooking, the public can sample students' masterpieces in Russell's Restaurant on campus. Award winning chefs led students to success in the following competitions: 2004 RCF Western Regional Hot Food Competition - Silver Medal 2003 RCF Western Regional Hot Food Competition - Gold Medal 2003 Nevada State Hot Food Competition Gold medal and State Championship ACF 1998 & 2001 Baron H. Galand Culinary Knowledge Bowl Competition Gold Medal and National Championship Students in the CSN Culinary Arts programs may earn a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate of Applied Science Degree with an emphasis in Culinary Arts.
