Penn State Berks (Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management)
Penn State's School of Hospitality Management within the College of Health and Human Development is home to the associate degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management offered at Penn State Berks campus. This intensive major helps prepare students for managerial positions in the hospitality industry.
The Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management program includes both courses specific to the major and general education courses to help students develop a general knowledge base in business. In addition, students will have an opportunity to complete an internship at a local hotel, restaurant, or institutional food service facility during the second half of the program.
The associate degree program is enhanced by the opportunity to transfer to the baccalaureate degree program in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management at Penn State University Park campus. The program is offered during the day; however, there are opportunities through Penn State's World Campus to take HRIM courses on-line to meet the needs of the busy hospitality professional or person seeking a career change.
