Central Maine Community College (Culinary Arts)

The Culinary Arts certificate program prepares students for employment in the food service and hospitality industry. Through a combination of classroom instruction and assigned experiences in the program's kitchen and dining room facilities, students receive training in nutrition, menu planning, kitchen sanitation, food preparation, food purchase and storage, and meal serving.

Graduates of the program typically obtain employment as cooks, cook's helpers and assistant bakers in restaurants or other institutions where operations include food service, such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes.
