Copper Colander Cooking Classes

Sharon Culbertson is the founder and owner of The Copper Colander. The concept for the business was based on Sharon's lifelong passion for cooking and entertaining, having developed a culinary sense from a very young age for creating and serving appealing dishes.

The Copper Colander opened in November 2002 and the business has expanded three times since then. We feature the best brands for all levels of cooking. Our extensive inventory will make shopping in our store a pleasure and you will leave knowing you have found a source for your kitchen needs that you will return to time and again.
We would like to welcome Chef Cynthia as head of the Copper Colander Culinary Center. After graduating from Billings Senior High, Chef Cynthia studied French literature at MSU-Bozeman and the University of Minnesota. After four very cold years in the Midwest, she and her husband moved to San Francisco where they pursued careers and started a family. When they moved to a small town in the mountains of Northern California, she continued to hold onto a long-standing goal to one day attend culinary school. The stars finally aligned themselves so that she was able to return to San Francisco to attend the California Culinary Academy. “I felt like the luckiest person alive every day I walked into the place!” she says of the experience. Afterwards, she returned to her small town on a medium-sized lake and opened a bakery-restaurant devoted to hand-made food which reflected the best of each season. At the same time, she and another chef opened a culinary school to address the need among restaurants in their resort community for employees with culinary training. Following the departure of both her children for college, she decided it was time to bring her love of food and teaching back to Montana. Check our website often. Chef Cynthia is developing a comprehensive array of classes that will offer something for everyone. There is always something happening in the culinary center!
