Kitchen Affairs

This begins our 22nd year in business: same location, same owners, many of the same customers. There have been some changes; we hope they’re all for the better. Our store is larger than when we first opened, and brighter, and with a much more open feel. Our color scheme has changed, and all our fixtures, but the most important changes have been in the merchandise we sell. Thanks to you, we have been able to consistently “move up” our merchandise mix. This means that the quality of our products, across the board, has only gotten better. We still select each product on the basis of value; that is, is it worth what we must sell it for? Some are the highest priced in their respective categories; some are much more modestly priced. But all are worth the price we charge, whether it be a $3 bamboo spoon or a $50 bottle of organic imported vintage olive oil. We appreciate that you recognize the value inherent in each product, and favor us with your custom (that’s the old word for your business, and the meaning behind customer, which we hope you will continue to be).

We have been recognized both locally and nationally as a leader in our category of independent housewares and gourmet retailers. In fact, last month Gourmet Retailer magazine featured our store with a major article. We want you to know that this recognition is not only a reflection of our efforts, but of your support. Without that, we could not even exist, much less thrive.

This is an extremely ambitious class schedule. Many of the classes are geared toward couples, since Valentine’s day falls right in the middle of the schedule. We also find more and more couples taking our classes together. It’s a great evening out, as a couple or with other couples. Don’t wait too long or the classes you want to take will be filled. We will initially open for registration on this schedule on Wednesday, January 2 at 9:30 a.m. You may not register until January 2.
