Mt Hood Community College (Hospitality and Tourism Management)

Hospitality and Tourism Management is an Associate of Applied Science degree program designed to prepare you for a career in the hospitality and tourism industry. After obtaining your associate degree, you may elect to transfer your coursework to a university in order to obtain a four-year degree. Your curriculum at Mt. Hood Community College will include instruction and training in hotel, travel, recreation, tourism, culinary arts, food service, convention and meeting planning and related service industries.

Your success will come from your preparation and our mentorship. In addition to formal instruction, cooperative education internships are an integral part of the program and allow for on-the-job experiences in a wide variety of settings and occupations directly related to each student’s career objectives.

Your program consists of Hospitality & Tourism Management classes, other hospitality and tourism coursework, and the general education classes needed to complete your Associate of Applied Science degree. In this program you will learn the basics of industry. You will learn how to run computer systems that are used in the hospitality and tourism industries. You will learn a whole new “language” in some courses.
