The foodservice industry is one of the largest and fastest growing in the nation today. The growth is continuing internationally with travel and economic changes.

Employment in the commercial and non-commercial food industries approximates 12 million people with sales in the billions. The U.S. Department of Labor predicts continued high employment of foodservice managers, growing faster than other occupations throughout the next century.

Restaurant/Foodservice Management is a four year BS degree option in the College of Health and Human Sciences. This program continues to grow as it prepares graduates for professional management positions in the vast areas of foodservice such as restaurant management, catering, schools and universities, or transportation and clubs. In addition, employment opportunities include computer technology implementation, food and equipment sales, and product development.
