The Culinary Arts—Chef’s Apprenticeship Training program provides basic education and training for apprentice chefs. Sequential courses provide for development of technical food preparation and service skills, understanding of the principles of food and beverage composition, experience in the use and maintenance of professional food service equipment and basic supervisory skills.
The program in cooperation with t he Texas Chef's Association is a full-time work program (6,000 hours of supervised apprenticeship) and part-time educational program, which augments on-the-job experiences. An associate of applied science degree may be obtained in two-years of full-time enrollment.
