Savannah Technical College (CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM)




Culinary Arts is a sequence of courses that prepare students for careers in the food service industry. Graduates of the program receive a Culinary Arts diploma. The program emphasizes technical/theoretical knowledge combined with the practical application of basic food preparation and service techniques, sanitation, equipment use, and safety. Program graduates are prepared for jobs as restaurant cooks, short order cooks, school cafeteria cooks, cook helper and baker apprentices/helpers. The American Culinary Federation Accrediting Commission accredits the Culinary Arts diploma.

Upon successful completion of program a student is eligible to take the culinarian or pastry certification examination to attain appropriate ACFEI certification.
