The Art Institute of Colorado (Culinary Arts Associate of Applied Science)

At The Art Institute of Colorado our professional kitchens are your classrooms. You’ll receive extensive hands-on training instruction from accomplished chefs and have the opportunity to work in Assignments—our highly-acclaimed, student-operated public restaurant. Near the completion of your program, we provide assistance in career planning, job search skills, portfolio planning, interview techniques and résumé development. We offer five separate culinary education programs. Learn what it takes to become a true professional in the culinary field.

Earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in seven quarters (21 months). Begin learning the same skills as our diploma students, plus basic cooking and nutrition, kitchen procedures, and food selection, purchasing and presentation. Move on through specialty areas, such as baking and pastry, garde manger, international and American regional cuisines, and diningroom operations. You’ll take computer and communication courses as well as gain a sense of restaurant styles, food and wine pairing, management and marketing.
