University of North Dakota Grand Forks (Nutrition and Dietetics)

Students graduate with either a Bachelor of Science in Community Nutrition or a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. The Community Nutrition major may opt to meet the requirements to become a Licensed Nutritionist (LN) in North Dakota upon graduation. Dietetics majors complete a coordinated program which encompasses both the academic requirements and the experiential training required before graduates may take the national credentialing examination required to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).

Individualized attention is one of the features of the Department most often mentioned by its graduates. Strong advisement and mentoring programs assist students in pursuit of their educational goals. Students are encouraged to becomes members of professional associations and the Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND).

Departmental faculty are experienced, dedicated, and highly qualified. They have worked in a wide range of settings within the profession and are active leaders and participants in community service and professional associations. Departmental faculty have identified quality teaching and the success of every student as their highest priorities.
