Warwick's Chef School
More than 15 years ago, Kevin Warwick opened the doors of Warwick's Chef School,in Onrust River, near Hermanus in the Western Cape.
The school's aim is to prepare young and upcoming chefs for the fast-growing hospitality industry by making them competent and confident in the basics of the French Classic Cuisine and contemporary style cooking.
Two six-months full-time courses are run annually, from January - June and from July - December. The course is aimed at young enthusiastic people with a passion for fine cuisine and who are serious about pursuing a career as a chef, whether in a restaurant, guest house, hotel or doing industrial-style catering.
With Kevin Warwick as principal, supported by his 4 full-time and 6 part-time lecturers, personal attention is definitely guaranteed for the up to 24 students (in 2 classes of 12) who are accepted for each course.
Warwick'S Chef School is an approved centre for the City & Guilds international qualification FOOD PREPARATION & CULINARY ARTS which is part of our course. It is also an approved examination centre.
The difference between the training at Warwick's and that of many other institutions, is that the school prepares students for the industry in a realistic, industry related working kitchen, instead of the usual Home Economic Domestic Science type set-up.
