Cooking is a process to prepare food that is enjoyed through the sense of taste and certain tastes are more enjoyable than others because many cultures have diversified their foods for the different means of preparation, cooking techniques and ingredients that vary widely across the world and this way these cultures reflect their environmental, economic, cultural and religious traditions.

Each culture has developed a characteristic style of cooking practices and traditions that is known as cuisine that is why many cultures have a recognizable cuisine that is influenced by the development of agriculture, commerce and transportation between civilizations of different regions that allow the use of local and foreign ingredients in the preparation of food.

As cuisine represents a specific culture, it has a specific set of cooking traditions that uses spices or a combination of flavors to create unique dishes which evolves over time because new inventions and technologies, such as pottery has expanded cooking techniques and some modern cooks apply scientific techniques to food preparation.
