Burundi Cuisine

Burundian dish

Burundian cuisine is one of the most chief Africa Cuisines, and their principal ingredients are fish; fruits, mainly bananas; many vegetables such as red kidney beans, maize, cassava, corn, sweet potatoes, sorghum, beans, onion, cabbages; plantains; milk; meat as chicken; salt, pepper, palm oil, cream, sugar, and butter.

Burundian people do not usually accompany their dishes with desserts. Their main dishes are Bananas and Beans, Boko Boko Harees, Ugali, Date and Banana Mix; and for their celebrations they mostly use drinks homemade with banana wine and beer.

Also, some areas are used to brochettes and frites, as a remnant of the colonial Belgian.
