       Galanga: or blue ginger, it is a rhizome with culinary and medicinal uses, cut or powdered.

   Galliano: liqueur made of herbs, roots and spices.

   Garam Masala: blend of dry-roasted ground spices.

   Garbanzo Beans: good source of protein, either dried or canned.

   Gari: thin slice of young ginger marinated inside sugar and vinegar.

   Garnish: substance used as decoration to accompany food or drinks.

   Geta: wooden block used as a plate for food.

   Giblets: edible internal organs of a fowl like heart, gizzard, liver, and viscera.

   Gizzard: muscular stomach found in birds and they are popular food in many places around the world, mostly fried.

   Glucose: sugar energy source, many crops can be used like maize, rice, wheat, potato, cassava, arrowroot and sago.

   Gluten: amorphous ergastic protein mixed in many cereals, especially wheat, rye, and barley. It is used to give elasticity to kneaded dough.

   Glycemic load: ranking system for carbohydrate content in food portions.

   Gobo: Long burdock root.

   Goetta: blend of pork, beef, steel-cut oats and seasonings, prepared to be fried.

   Gomashio: natural flavoring made from sesame and salt.

   Gourd: dried shell of a fruit used to create bowls or bottles.

   Grana: granum in singular, it is a stack of thylakoids in the chloroplast and it task is to convert solar energy into chemical energy.

   Granola: breakfast or snack food made of nuts, oats, raisins, dried fruit and dates mixed with honey.

   Grater: kitchen tool used to grate foods into fine strips or powder.

   Green shallots: spring onions.

   Grenadine syrup: red syrup made from pomegranate juice and sugar.

   Grind: to reduce food into small particles.

   Grits: coarsely ground corn passed through screens giving a finer part and a coarser part. This coarser part is called grits.

   Groats: grains of cereals that has been hulled and crushed.

   Ground beef: or Beef Mince in England. It is beef finely chopped by a meat grinder.

   Guar gum: natural gum extracted from the guar bean and it is used in many food applications.

   Gum Arabic: also a natural gum extracted from both the Acacia senegal and the Acacia seyal. It is used as stabilizer.
